The demonstrators gathered near the Makar Dwar, brandishing placards that read slogans like ‘chhanda chor, gaddi chor’ and ‘Amit Shah jawaab do,’ directing their ire towards the government. Symbolically, the MPs set up donation boxes at the protest site to represent the alleged financial misconduct surrounding the Ram temple donations. Prominent figures in the demonstration included Dimple Yadav and Dharmendra Yadav from the Samajwadi Party, Sagarika Ghose from the Trinamool Congress, and RJD members Sanjay Yadav and Manoj Jha. The protestors carried a large banner proclaiming, ‘Why Amit Shah absent from Parliament?’ This banner aimed to press the Home Minister to address the alleged issues directly. The coalition of opposition parties known as the INDIA bloc has vowed to intensify their efforts to hold the government accountable regarding the dual issues of the alleged donation theft from the temple and the use of force against protesting students last week.
Floor leaders from the INDIA bloc convened in the office of Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge, to strategize their approach.
