Amid heightened security measures, Jammu and Kashmir Police and Border Security Force (BSF) troops launched a search operation near the International Border on Sunday. The thorough operation aimed to bolster security in anticipation of Independence Day, according to police.

The joint operation unfolded in Aik Nallah and Kool Kalan, areas under the jurisdiction of Arnia Police Station. Initiating around 6 PM, the operation lasted almost two hours, during which personnel searched approximately 15 houses and kullas (shacks).

Police confirmed that this search operation forms part of the regular security and surveillance measures being implemented as Independence Day approaches. As tensions often rise during this sensitive period, authorities aim to ensure the safety and security of residents.

Despite the diligent efforts, officials reported that the situation remained normal throughout the operation, and no untoward incidents occurred. Local residents expressed relief over the proactive measures taken by the security forces.

This cordon-and-search operation reflects a broader strategy aimed at ensuring public safety in Jammu, especially during significant national celebrations. Experts point out that such operations not only deter potential threats but also foster a sense of community trust in law enforcement agencies.

As Jammu and Kashmir prepares for Independence Day celebrations, the emphasis on security illustrates the authorities’ commitment to protecting citizens. Local law enforcement urges the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities, showcasing the initiative to maintain peace in the region.
